ABOUT TYLER WAXMAN
Tyler Waxman is a process driven artist whose non-objective drawings and paintings focus and embrace the act of mark making. It is with the intention of letting go of a conscious plan or structure that Tyler begins his work. As the process unfolds Waxman responds to the dynamic and intrasubjective encounter. As both an artist and a clinical psychologist, Tyler attempts to explore the conscious and unconscious workings of the mind. His works act as a sort of visual diary of “automatic” mark making, revealing the artist’s most vulnerable moments in the studio.
